Tire suggestions R1200GSA
Author Last Post

I have a R1250 GSA that has had the Bridgestone A41 (original tires), Michelin Anakee Adventure, and Dunlop Trailmax Mission. I haven’t run the Michelin Anakee 3 tires. The Bridgestone tires had good grip on pavement and on wet pavement. They were similar to road timers off road. The front tire wore out long before the rear which was not expected.

I put the Michelin Anakee Adventure tires on next. These tires were great on the road as well as on wet pavement. They were okay off road, much better than the Bridgestone’s, but still not a lot of grip in light mud and more than a single layer of gravel. As they wore down the front tire was loud in the corners. I did get just over 8K miles on this set of tires.

The set i currently have on are the Dunlop Trailmax Mission tires. I have approximately 3K miles currently. They aren’t as confidence inspiring as the Michelin’s on pavement and on wet pavement, but I haven’t actually had the tire feel like it is slipping out in the corners. This tire has good grip off road, much better than the other tires. It is also still quieter on the pavement than the other to options.

Morning all,

I've recently purchased a 2018 R1200 GSA and looking for some tire knowledge from the collective. I will be doing mostly tarmac and dirt roads. Probably 80/20 tire. Looking at replacing the Anakee 3 currently on the bike. More like a 90/10 I assume, but how do they perform on dirt roads?
