Karen Jones, Chuck's wife, has informed me that Chuck passed away this morning about 9 am after a long illness with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). It is a blessing for the both of them that this is over now. Karen said she would like to have a celebration of life for him after a month or so.
Chuck was a former vice president and president of the BMW club in 2013-14. He loved to ride and was not afraid of challenges. He rode to Alaska (twice), Newfoundland, Ecuador, and many other adventures. Many of us rode with him on club rides, BMW MOA rallies, and many other trips. He had a warm, friendly personality and was famous for his booming voice that could overpower the entire room!
